Basketball Game Preview: Urbana Tigers vs. Normal University Pioneers

The Urbana Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Normal University Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.

Urbana is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They took a blow against Richwoods, falling 55-10. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 460th, while the Knights are ranked 175th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-25, which was the final score in Normal University's tilt against Springfield on Saturday. The Pioneers haven't had much luck with the Senators recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Normal University's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Urbana, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Urbana suffered a grim 50-30 defeat to Normal University when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Urbana avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
