La Center proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Overlake Owls 1-0. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won nine games in a row.

Overlake's batters probably weren't too happy with Justin Fuller, who pitched a no hitter and racked up six Ks (he gave up a single walk). Fuller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, La Center's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Houston Coyle, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

La Center pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Overlake, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Center will welcome Castle Rock at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Overlake, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Granite Falls at 4:00 p.m. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
