Basketball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 69-52 bruising from the Spring Lions. While losing is never fun, the Marlins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 934th, while the Lions are ranked 428th).

Jaylan Tran continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Spring, going 7 for 12 on his way to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tadarius Wade, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 17 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Madison and nudges their season record down to 6-8. As for Spring, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Madison will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Galena Park at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th. As for Spring, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-36 victory against Dekaney on the 3rd.
