Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of David Shaw and Tristan Garner Lead Southland College Prep to Victory

Southland College Prep proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 30) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Beecher Bobcats 61-59. That's more bragging rights for Southland College Prep, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Southland College Prep to victory were Tristan Garner and David Shaw. Garner went 11 for 21 on his way to 19 points and five assists, while Shaw posted 24 points. Shaw's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jordan Cameron was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Southland College Prep's record now sits at 13-7. As for Beecher, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Lisle the next time they take the court. Southland College Prep will host Lisle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Beecher will host them at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
