Recap: West Covina Bulldogs vs. Don Lugo Conquistadores
It was a good run, but The West Covina Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They and Don Lugo were almost perfectly matched up, but West Covina suffered an agonizing 41-40 defeat. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Kalib Pacheco continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Don Lugo, throwing for 503 yards and four touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Pacheco is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Hrynezuk, who picked up 197 receiving yards and a touchdown.
West Covina's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Don Lugo, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Covina will take on Chaffey at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chaffey is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Don Lugo, they will be playing at home against Claremont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
