Basketball Recap: Christ Church Episcopal Takes a Loss

Christ Church Episcopal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 40-30 defeat to the Boiling Springs Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-29 back in December of 2024.

Boiling Springs' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenzie Kinard, who posted 15 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kinard has scored at least a third of Boiling Springs' points. Akerah Morris was another key player, putting up six points and ten rebounds.

Christ Church Episcopal's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Boiling Springs, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ Church Episcopal will host Chapin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boiling Springs, they will be playing at home against Eastside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
