Baseball Game Preview: Lowellville Rockets vs. Memorial Red Devils

The Lowellville Rockets will challenge the Memorial Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Saturday, Lowellville came up short against Mineral Ridge and fell 6-3. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost five in a row.

Geno Perry put in work no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perry was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Perry wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Tuscano, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Memorial's offense. They lost 21-0 to Champion last Friday. The Red Devils' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lowellville, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Lowellville took their win against Memorial when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
