Volleyball Game Preview: Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears vs. Dimond Lynx

Juneau-Douglas hasn't had much luck against Dimond recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Crimson Bears will be taking part in a tournament against the Lynx at 3:00 p.m.

Juneau-Douglas is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since November 15, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Bettye Davis East Anchorage.

Juneau-Douglas couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Bettye Davis East Anchorage a tough time in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 33-31, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Dimond came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win.

Dimond walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-16, 25-19.

Juneau-Douglas better keep an eye on Elena Snow. She was instrumental in Dimond's win, getting six digs and three aces.

Dimond was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests.

Juneau-Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 19-13-6. As for Dimond, their win bumped their record up to 21-9-1.

Juneau-Douglas came up short against Dimond when the teams last played back in October of 2023, falling 2-0. Can the Crimson Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
