Basketball Recap: Rylan Beasley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Harnett Central over Pine Forest

Harnett Central lost against Pine Forest back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Harnett Central Trojans came up short against the Pine Forest Trojans, falling 69-47. Harnett Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.

Harnett Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylan Beasley, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Temple, who put up seven points.

Among those leading the charge was Christian Baynes, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points and five assists. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Tubbs, who went 5 of 7 en route to 10 points.

Harnett Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Pine Forest, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Harnett Central will challenge Triton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Triton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups. As for Pine Forest, they will take on Overhills at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Forest is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.7 points per game this season.
