Baseball Recap: Clinton-Massie Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Clinton-Massie was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 14-11 win over the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs. The high-scoring effort was just what the Falcons needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Andrew Smith was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Elkins, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

The victory got Clinton-Massie back to even at 1-1. As for Lynchburg-Clay, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Clinton-Massie and Lynchburg-Clay will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Clinton-Massie is set to challenge their familiar foe New Richmond at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lynchburg-Clay will face off against rival North Adams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
