Aliso Niguel is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since January 4, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Mission Viejo by a score of 52-49. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wolverines came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Diablos are ranked 422nd).

Meanwhile, Beckman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Capistrano Valley. The match marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Beckman's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Aliso Niguel, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.
