Football Game Preview: Woodland Wolves vs. El Camino Eagles + Official Tickets

The Woodland Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the El Camino Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Woodland has three straight wins, El Camino has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Woodland gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They slipped by Rio Linda 29-28. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Wolves were down 28-8 in the second quarter.

Woodland can attribute much of their success to Joe Abarca, who threw for 272 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, El Camino played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Casa Roble, falling 49-7. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 901st, while the Rams are ranked 240th).

El Camino's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Woodland, their record is now 3-6.

Woodland came out on top in a nail-biter against El Camino when the teams last played back in November of 2024, sneaking past 14-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
