With a playoff win on the line, Fort Lupton rose to the challenge on Saturday. They took down the Lamar Thunder 66-51. The Bluedevils are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 16 straight.
Mylz Palmer was a one-man wrecking crew for Fort Lupton as he went 8-for-12 to rack up 21 points. The dominant performance also gave Palmer a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (83%). Isaiah Garcia was another key player, putting up 14 points.
Fort Lupton was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lamar only eight assists.
Despite the loss, Lamar still got an impressive performance from Gabrian Jacobs, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Jacobs is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Diego Estrada, who posted eight points and three steals.
Fort Lupton's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Lamar, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-8.
Fort Lupton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 87-64 loss against Prospect Ridge Academy on the 12th. Lamar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
