Basketball Game Preview: Chaparral Bobcats vs. Highland Park Scots

The Chaparral Bobcats will challenge the Highland Park Scots at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Chaparral is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past North Mesquite 33-31. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Stallions are ranked 535th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Highland Park posted their closest win since December 28, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Tyler 44-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Scots.

Highland Park's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points over those games. As for Chaparral, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-11 record this season.
