Baseball Recap: Manchester Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Manchester ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Whiteoak Wildcats 4-3. For the Greyhounds, this counts as revenge for the 4-0 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Thomas Barnhart was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. Bryce Young was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Manchester's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.75 runs across that stretch. As for Whiteoak, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Manchester didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-2 defeat against Eastern on the 11th. As for Whiteoak, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Peebles on the 10th.
