Softball Recap: Mineral Point Comes Up Short

Mineral Point fell victim to Cuba City and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cubans. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mineral Point's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Cuba City, their win was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

Mineral Point and Cuba City should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Pointers will take on Boscobel at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (66 vs. 345). Meanwhile, Cuba City (ranked 16th) will meet Darlington (ranked 324th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
