Alief Elsik proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 16) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Alief Hastings Fighting Bears 7-6. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-5 victory back in March.

Thania Lopez and Kimora Shorter did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Shorter went a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Lopez has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Onice Barreno, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Alief Elsik kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive contests.

Alief Elsik's record is now 10-13. As for Alief Hastings, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.

As of now, neither Alief Elsik nor the Fighting Bears have any future games scheduled.
