Basketball Recap: Corinth Warriors vs. New Hope Trojans
The Corinth Warriors lost against the New Hope Trojans back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Corinth fell 60-50 to the Trojans. While losing is never fun, Corinth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Trojans are ranked tenth).
Corinth lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Xae Mayes, who scored 16 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Harris, who scored 17 points.
Corinth's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-14. As for New Hope, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-2.
Corinth and the Commodores will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. West Lowndes has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 353 points over their last five contests.
