Basketball Recap: Webber's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Webber lost against Woodlawn back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Webber Trojans lost 59-35 to the Woodlawn Cardinals. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Webber lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Maia Schultz, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 11 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Schultz a new career-high in points. Edyn Knight was another key player, putting up three points along with 12 boards and five blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Sophia Skinner, who went 9 of 14 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rylie Hockett, who posted nine points and six steals.

Webber's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9. As for Woodlawn, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Webber has already played their next contest (against Cobden), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Woodlawn didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-21 win against Christopher on the 3rd.
