Soccer Game Preview: Bowne vs. Hillcrest

The Bowne Wildcats will face off against the Hillcrest Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Bowne has given up an average of 4.4 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bowne is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Friday, they were much more limited against John Adams on Sunday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Bowne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 244th, while John Adams are ranked 37th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hillcrest, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They put the hurt on Campus Magnet with a sharp 8-4 victory on Sunday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Hillcrest considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Hillcrest's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Bowne, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
