Football Recap: First Assembly Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

First Assembly Christian's game on Thursday was all tied up 6-6 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They and the Harding Academy Lions were almost perfectly matched up, but the Crusaders suffered a 19-18 defeat. Crusaders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Lions since Thursday.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Justin Barham and Jarren Jackson. Barham rushed for 123 yards and one score while picking up 7.7 yards per carry while Jackson rushed for 32 yards and one TD. Harding Academy is undefeated when Barham posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise.

First Assembly Christian is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Harding Academy, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. First Assembly Christian will take on Cordova at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Harding Academy, after each having a week off, they and Jackson Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
