Baseball Recap: Bagley Sets Scoring Season-High Against Kelliher/Northome

Bagley lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Kelliher/Northome, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's match. The Flyers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 21-4 win on Tuesday. The Flyers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ian Phrakonkham was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Phrakonkham was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other pitching news, Brett Schwegel looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Bagley is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 0-8 otherwise.

Back at the plate, Bagley got a massive performance out of James Johnson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. What's more, Johnson posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Thompson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.

Bagley's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9. As for Kelliher/Northome, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Bagley will head out to square off against Laporte at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kelliher/Northome does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
