Baseball Recap: Wilmington Wins Going Away Against Manteno

Wilmington got themselves on the board against Manteno on Tuesday, but Manteno never followed suit. They blew past the Panthers 8-0. Considering the Wildcats have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Lucas Rink, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Manteno off the board. Rink has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Declan Moran, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Zach Ohlund was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

The win got Wilmington back to even at 5-5. As for Manteno, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Wilmington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
