Basketball Recap: Elida Finds Playoff Glory Versus Lima Senior

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Elida had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They skirted past the Lima Senior Spartans 60-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since December 7, 2024.

Elida found their leader in sophomore Lilly Sifrit, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Sifrit is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. Alexa Good was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.

The win (which was Elida's fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points over those games. As for Lima Senior, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.

Looking ahead, Elida will face off against Granville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Granville will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Elida surely won't give up without a fight. Lima Senior does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
