Football Recap: Jim Thorpe Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jim Thorpe can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Allentown Central Catholic Vikings and fell 52-21. The Olympians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.

Jim Thorpe's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paxton Novack, who rushed for 69 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. Novack's longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Connor Zurawa also helped out with an impressive 86 receiving yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Jim Thorpe and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Allentown Central Catholic, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

As of now, neither Jim Thorpe nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
