Football Recap: Granada Hills Charter Highlanders vs. North Hollywood Huskies

Granada Hills Charter gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 50-16 victory over the North Hollywood Huskies. For the Highlanders, this counts as revenge for the 36-30 win the Huskies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Granada Hills Charter had a senior duo take command as Dean Rosales rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry and Michael Osuma rushed for 166 yards and one TD on only nine carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 84 yards.

Granada Hills Charter was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 420 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Hollywood only rushed for 142 rushing yards.

Although North Hollywood took the loss, they still got scores from GAVEN ZAMORA and CHRIS RENTERIA.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Granada Hills Charter is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Venice at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Hollywood, they will head out to face off against Village Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
