Recap: Cordova Wolves vs. Arlington Tigers
This season hasn't been kind to the Cordova Wolves, who are still winless after their seventh match. They were beaten by Arlington 61-29 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Cordova of the 51-14 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Arlington found their leader in underclassman Taylor Miller, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least a third of Arlington's points. Zaria Moss was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five steals.
Cordova dropped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.1 points per game. As for Arlington, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.
Coincidentally, Cordova and the Tigers will both be playing the Dragons the next time they take the court. Arlington will head out to face Collierville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Cordova will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
