Baseball Recap: Chaminade Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Chaminade won against St. Mary on Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Flyers never let the Gaels get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Flyers have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Carlos Pereira tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since April 2nd.

At the plate, Connor Meehan was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Gardner, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Chaminade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Chaminade's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10. As for St. Mary's, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Looking ahead, Chaminade will take on Holy Cross at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Flyers' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Knights have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for St. Mary's, they will face off against Archbishop Molloy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
