Baseball Game Preview: Clint Lions vs. Lubbock-Cooper Pirates

The Clint Lions will head out to face off against the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Clint has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while Lubbock-Cooper will come in with three straight victories.

Clint's tournament run continued when they took on Coronado on Friday. Clint came up short against Coronado, falling 13-4.

Clint saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Aranda, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Joel Villagrana also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Lubbock-Cooper earned a 4-1 win over Seminole on Friday.

Lubbock-Cooper pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Clint, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1.
