Volleyball Recap: Destinee Evans and Abby Kim Secure Win for Collins Hill + How To Watch

Collins Hill proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Dacula Falcons 3-2. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (104-102) Collins Hill actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23, 15-10.

Collins Hill was led to victory by Abby Kim and Destinee Evans. Kim had 25 digs and four assists, while Evans had 19 kills, 17 digs, two aces, and one block. Those 17 digs gave Evans a new career-high.

Dacula's loss came despite strong showings from Brianna Ortiz and Adelyne Yang. Ortiz had 11 digs and six assists, while Yang had six digs and three aces. Nia White also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

The victory (which was Collins Hill's third in a row) raised their record to 11-18. As for Dacula, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 14-19.

Coming up, Collins Hill will challenge Atlanta Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dacula, they will take on Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
