Softball Recap: Sage Creek Continues Home Dominance on Friday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sage Creek had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Helix Highlanders 3-1. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Kassidy King spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Torii Ramirez, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Sage Creek's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Helix, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-8.

As of now, neither Sage Creek nor the Highlanders have any future games scheduled.
