Soccer Game Preview: Jackson vs. Eastlake

The Jackson Timberwolves will take on the Eastlake Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Eastlake will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Jackson extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday. The Timberwolves were the clear victors by a 6-2 margin over Arlington. Given Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Arlington are ranked 223rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Eastlake won against Inglemoor on Thursday with four goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Tuesday. Everything went Wolves' way against Skyline as they made off with a 4-1 victory. That's two games straight that Eastlake have won by exactly three goals.

They hit Skyline with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bruno Perversi (2), Dhruv Avadhanam, and Elijah Puente-Marrero.

Eastlake is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four matches. As for Jackson, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4-1.

Everything went Jackson's way against Eastlake in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, as Jackson made off with a 4-0 win. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
