Basketball Game Preview: Ola Mustangs vs. Stockbridge Tigers

For the first time this season, Ola will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the Stockbridge Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ola is looking for their season's first win.

Ola is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Carrollton on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs lost 53-29 to the Trojans.

Despite the loss, Ola had strong showings from Jalen Watkins, who posted 11 points and five rebounds, and Timothy Clark, who scored six points. Watkins also posted a block, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Stockbridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Jackson by a score of 72-64 on Saturday. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Stockbridge's win came from a few key players Ola will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Shannon Glover, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaton Hall, who earned 16 points and six steals.

Ola's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Stockbridge, their victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Ola was able to grind out a solid win over Stockbridge in their previous matchup back in February, winning 88-79. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Tigers' Jason Brookins, who went 9-for-15 on his way to 26 points and six boards.
