If University City wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Point Loma, they should've done a better job of containing Olivia Karvelis. The Pointers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Centurions on Thursday for which the team can thank Karvelis, who had 18 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Point Loma not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept University City between 20 and 21 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20, 25-21.

Point Loma's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 12-10. As for University City, their loss dropped their record down to 14-16.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Point Loma is set to take on their familiar foe Lincoln at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, University City will face off against rival La Jolla at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
