Baseball Recap: Hugo Takes a Loss

Hugo lost against Durant back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hugo Buffaloes lost 10-3 to the Durant Lions. The Buffaloes just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Maliki Gillean was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. He has become a key player for Hugo: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Logan Allen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Hugo now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Durant, they moved to 3-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Hugo will host Kingston at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Durant, they will face off against Byng at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Byng will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Durant surely won't give up without a fight.
