Softball Recap: Pocahontas County Takes a Loss

Pocahontas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders.

Pocahontas County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Greater Beckley Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pocahontas County will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pendleton County at 5:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Greater Beckley Christian, they will take on Cross Lanes Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
