Preview: Monroe County Tigers vs. Straughn Tigers
Monroe County has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Straughn Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on December 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Monroe County is ranked 233rd, while Straughn is ranked 209th).
Monroe County pushed their score all the way to 75 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 85-75 to Georgiana. Monroe County has not had much luck with Georgiana recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Straughn ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against McKenzie by a score of 52-43. The win made it back-to-back wins for Straughn.
Monroe County now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Straughn, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.
