Basketball Recap: Dillon Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Reese Bracey and Jackson Outlar

Dillon Christian suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against the Scotland Fighting Scots, falling 62-36. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Dillon Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Outlar, who posted 17 points and five rebounds, and Reese Bracey, who had five points. That was a full 47.2% of Dillon Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Scotland found their leader in sophomore Jerrison Dixon, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 22 points along with six boards and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Dixon. The team also got some help courtesy of LaSean Pittman, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Dillon Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7. As for Scotland, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.

Dillon Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pee Dee Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. Pee Dee Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Dillon Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Scotland, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 62-53 loss against Cheraw on the 4th.
