Football Recap: Portsmouth West Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Portsmouth West finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost 36-13 to the Northwest Mohawks. The Senators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-7.

Despite the loss, Portsmouth West still got an impressive performance from Anthony Bishop, who rushed for 126 yards and two TDs on only 11 carries. Bishop's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 126 rushing yards.

Leading Northwest to victory were Carson Christian and Jake Brown. Christian gained 274 total yards and three touchdowns, while Brown rushed for 137 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Christian a new career-high in rushing yards (166).

Portsmouth West's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Northwest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
