Basketball Game Preview: Singer Hornets vs. DeRidder Dragons

The Singer Hornets will challenge the DeRidder Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Singer lost 43-20 to Stanley on Monday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, DeRidder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 53-26 loss at the hands of Lake Charles College Prep. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Trailblazers are ranked 144th).

DeRidder's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Singer, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-6.

Singer took their victory against DeRidder when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 54-34. Will Singer repeat their success, or does DeRidder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
