Basketball Game Preview: Shorewood Stormrays vs. Archbishop Murphy Wildcats

The Shorewood Stormrays will square off against the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Shorewood is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Edmonds-Woodway just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 53-35 to the Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Stormrays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Warriors are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Archbishop Murphy came up short against Mountlake Terrace on Tuesday and fell 71-58. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now lost seven in a row.

Archbishop Murphy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Shorewood, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Shorewood didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Archbishop Murphy when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 55-50 win.
