Softball Recap: Eau Claire Drops Season-High Score on Michigan Lutheran

Eau Claire extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They lost 22-10 to the Michigan Lutheran Titans. On the bright side, the ten- run performance marked the Beavers' highest-scoring game to date.

As for Michigan Lutheran, they now have a winning record of 8-7. Considering they have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Michigan Lutheran's part, Anna Sysak made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and seven unearned) runs off five hits. Sysak was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addy Wetzel, who went 3-for-5 with five runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Peppers, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

While Eau Claire had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
