Basketball Recap: Cedar Grove Takes Down Global Studies in a Playoff Battle

Cedar Grove had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 45-31 victory over Global Studies on Wednesday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Global Studies are ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cedar Grove is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Global Studies and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Coming up, Cedar Grove will square off against Glen Ridge on Saturday. Global Studies does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
