Softball Game Preview: Centennial Patriots vs. Ridgevue Warhawks

The Centennial Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Ridgevue Warhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Centennial has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Centennial is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Rocky Mountain, who was ranked 15th at the time (Centennial was ranked 21st). The Patriots took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grizzlies on Thursday.

Jailey Polski ?25 was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Bailey Shankland ?26, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Ridgevue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-3 to Eagle.

Hannah Rogers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laycee Dewsnup, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Ridgevue, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Centennial might still be hurting after the 16-6 defeat they got from Ridgevue in their previous matchup back in March of 2018. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
