The Overton Bobcats are taking a road trip to take on the Hillsboro Burros at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Overton barely beat Cane Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats blew past the Ravens 11-1 on Sunday. Considering the Bobcats have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Sunday's blowout was nothing new.

Will Livingston made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Bennett, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Miller Bowen, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Overton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Hillsboro had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-11 W against the Bobcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Burros have posted since March 28th.
Like Overton, Hillsboro also got a great game from a two-way player: Cyrus Conner. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Conner has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Drake McDowell was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Riley Hayden was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Hillsboro's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Overton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-14 record this season.
