Miami Central was playing for much more than just a win this past weekend against the 2016 National Champs, Bishop Gorman, they were playing for all of South Florida. They had the perfect formula — give the ball to James Cook.

The No. 3 running back in the Class of 2018 finished the night with 199 yards rushing and two touchdowns in a 24-20 win. The Rockets were the biggest movers in this week's Xcellent 25 National High School Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

Bingham flexed its muscle against Hawaii power Kahuku in a 17-0 win in the inaugural Polynesian Football Classic in Las Vegas. It was the first time since 2008 the Red Raiders were shutout and the offense was stagnant all night without their star sophomore quarterback Sol-Jay Maiava.

St. Joseph's Prep won its 16th consecutive game with an impressive 28-21 win against previously ranked St. Peter's Prep. The defense and special teams were huge, and Marquez McCray threw two touchdown passes and sophomore running back Kolbe Burrell rushed for 114 yards and a score.

St. John's bounced back strong after blowing a double-digit, second-half lead to De La Salle a week ago. The Cadets cruised to a 42-25 win over New Jersey power St. Joseph Regional, and were among six new teams to join this week's rankings.
