Preview: Lincolnton Wolves vs. Maiden Blue Devils
Lincolnton is 1-9 against Maiden since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lincolnton Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Maiden Blue Devils at 6:15 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lincolnton came into Friday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 32-29 victory over West Caldwell on Friday. The victory was just what Lincolnton needed coming off of a 77-20 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Maiden had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-49 victory over Bandys.
Lincolnton's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-17. As for Maiden, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Lincolnton was dealt a bruising 62-20 loss at the hands of Maiden in their previous meeting back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lincolnton was down 45-7.
