Preview: Las Lomas Knights vs. Berean Christian Eagles
Las Lomas has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Berean Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Las Lomas has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 494 points over their last seven matchups.
Even though Benicia scored an imposing 71 points on Friday, Las Lomas still came out on top. Las Lomas walked away with an 81-71 win over Benicia. The win was all the more spectacular given Las Lomas' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Benicia is ranked 129th).
Las Lomas' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Vaucher, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Xayne Mojadiddi, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Berean Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 76-34 loss at the hands of Acalanes. Berean Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-19.
The victory got Las Lomas back to even at 10-10. As for Berean Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
