Basketball Game Preview: Collins-Maxwell vs. Meskwaki Settlement Warriors

Collins-Maxwell and Meskwaki Settlement are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. Collins-Maxwell will head out to challenge the Meskwaki Settlement Warriors at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Collins-Maxwell has 11 straight wins, Meskwaki Settlement has 18 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Collins-Maxwell is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Twin Cedars to the tune of 79-34 on Thursday. Collins-Maxwell has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Meskwaki Settlement was beaten by Janesville 88-28 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Wildcats are ranked 133rd).

Collins-Maxwell pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for Meskwaki Settlement, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Collins-Maxwell against Meskwaki Settlement in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 64-27 win.
