Football Recap: Southwest Guilford Falls to Rockingham County in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Southwest Guilford unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 32-16 bruising from the Rockingham County Cougars on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

Although Southwest Guilford took the loss, they still got scores from Nehemiah Thompson and Andrian Williams.

Luke Strittmatter had a dynamite game For Rockingham County., throwing for 174 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes, while also rushing for 116 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. James Thomas was Strittmatter's top target, picking up 50 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Guilford will take on Western Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockingham County, they will challenge Magna Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
